CLOTHING
Chile is a mostly temperate country, and seasonally appropriate clothing for North America
or Europe will be equally suitable here. In the desert north, lightweight cottons are a good
idea, but at the higher elevations of the Andes and in Patagonia, you should carry warm clothing
even in summer. From Temuco south, rain is possible at any time of the year, and a small,
light umbrella is useful in the city.
The big difference of temperatures in Chile requires a good clothing concept.
The simplest and best way is to have clothes, which you can wear in layers. For warm days it's
good to have cool, light drying clothes and for the colder ones it's necessarily to have a fleece
or a jumper. Don't forget to take some gloves and a cap with you, also in summertime it can be
cold at night.
